Welcome to November and I hope you enjoyed a great racing carnival!

For the Schmooze team its full steam ahead with planning our expanded 2012 program.

We're looking to add some additional events for the summer break of a social / informal nature and so don't think we turn the lights off at the end of month.

We are also looking to add another chapter in Tasmania next year to create more opportunities for our members and foster what will be a national community eventually.

Recently, I was interviewed by the Canberra Times. They were interested in my thoughts and philosophy behind Schmooze. I made the point that its evolved over eight years into a vibrant and supportive community, and provides a collaborative space with a range of opportunities for our members and guests - what they make of it is up to them.

Its been wonderful seeing the start of the Melbourne > Canberra exchange with people attending events in both cities to create new business relationships this year.

So as we come up to our 1st Birthday in Melbourne, we've been heartened by the response to what we offer this year. I think we're well positioned for a great 2012 and its thanks to you that we've come this far.

Want a Free Membership?

We've grown thanks to the word of mouth of our wonderful members, and we think its the best way to evolve any business.

So from now on, anyone who introduces 3 new members to us will receive a free 6 month Professional or Young Professional member package.

All the new members need to do is mention you when completing the application form.

Current members who introduce three new members will receive a bonus 6 months to their membership.

So if you've always wanted to join, just find 3 colleagues and get them to sign up!

Get Ready for 2012

Well its coming, and we're putting together our program for next year now.

We'd love to hear from you with suggestions for topics for our workshops and seminars, venues, event formats and ideas in general.

So please email us soon!

We'll also be reaching out to our members to be presenters for our Schmooze@Campus, Lifeskills for under 30's and Professional Development programs soon.

If you want to be considered for these you'll need to be a member, so don't put off joining or renewing till next year!

Now is also the time to be thinking about how you want to leverage Schmooze to progress your business and professional goals- so please get in touch for a chat with one of the team.

The November Schmooze

Something special for you this month!

Its our 1st Birthday in Melbourne and we're celebrating with a party in our own rooftop lounge bar.

If you have never been to one of our events, or haven't been for a bit, then this is the one evening you'll want to experience.

Member Package Inclusions

We offer four membership packages for either six or 12 months, each coming with additional complimentary Guest Passes (value $55 each) to enable you to bring non-members to our events.

If one person was to attend all our events on a casual basis, the invesment would be $2500 a year for ACT alone, plus the Melbourne Chapter program you'd have access to. As a member you can attend all our events for free, or at reduced cost if a social member.

Professional

Choose this option if you want to use your membership to promote your company's services, products and expertise using our website, social media, and enews, and be supported by us for this purpose. The package includes:

Receive business referrals, promotional opportunities and guest speaking opportunities in our program.
The package covers up to five full time colleagues who are all considered members.
It also allows your offices in other locations, like Melbourne to join at a special Associate rate.
You and your colleagues can attend our events for free.

Social

Choose this option if you just want come to the monthly Schmooze's to socialise (for free), make new friends, enjoy the range of membership benefits.

This membership can be shared with a nominated partner or family member.
You can also attend other Schmooze events, like our seminars and workshops at discounted rates.
But note, you can't advertise your organisation via Schmooze or use us for promotional or commercial purposes.

Young Professional

Choose this option if you are under 30 and receive all the inclusions of the Professional Package, except the membership only applies to one person.

Associate

This Package has the same inclusions and benefits as the Professional Package, and is open to:

Registered Charities and Not-for-Profit organisations
If you're located in rural Australia and want to advertise your business and events through Schmooze, but not likely to attend our events.
Interstate offices of current Professional members
Members of commitees of Young Professional / Student organisations (is shared between the members)

You'll find the inclusions, details and costs for each Package here, and we offer an installment option or 12 month memberships with three equal payments.
